With travel, there is the irresistible feeling of possibility -- just around this corner there may be a jewel of a shop, a local market, a new gallery opening with food and drinks and fabulous fashions all over. That is the thrill that keeps my eyes open and my interests so peaked! I think it's safe to say in Italy, there are more breath-taking moments of surprise and beauty than in other parts of the world. In Firenze, my heart is full of these special, unexpected delights.
Yesterday, one such sparkling, emerald green temple to fabulosity emerged -- I didn't stumble upon La Via del Te, my friend and wonderful guide, Krista, invited me into this beautiful tea atelier after we tried to visit a garden show -- it was raining and muddy at the horticulture garden, so we huddled under her brolly and ducked inside . . . We allowed ourselves to fully immerse our noses into a variety of apothecary-style jars filled to the brim with quality teas. It was the perfect rainy day activity and I indulged in a few different types to try at home.
