WINE TASTING AT PALI WITH MAMA

In between shooting a giant book project (to be revealed soon, I hope!) I got to slip into a relaxed afternoon of wine tasting in Santa Barbara with my Mom. We were happy to visit a new tasting room in the funk zone of my hometown and sample Pali Wines. The chardonnay was my favorite of the flight, it was velvety and not too sweet nor too oaky, just right. Pali Wines are sourced from grapes all over California (and a few varieties from Oregon too) and blended in Lompoc at the winery. We chatted with Aaron, the lovely wine maker (see his smiling face above), and got to meet his wife too (she runs the tasting room).

They have a neat bottling/growler system where you buy a gorgeous bottle and they have current favorite wines on tap for you to refill for 15 bucks. I'll definitely be doing this when we move here in just a few weeks!
