The most perfect macarons outside of Paris are just a few blocks from my home at a bustling little French Cafe, Renauds . . . It's a wonderful, dangerous situation.
Is there anything more pure than a perfectly flavored, subtly scented, colorful French macaron? They are as pleasing to behold as they are to bite through. These macarons are ethereal in their lightness, crackle gently with a satisfying shatter and thoroughly pack a mysterious taste punch. They are so small and so tasty: a hallmark of all grand French pastry, non? My recommendations are the orange blossom, salted caramel, and coconut flavors. HEAVEN on a plate.
